Your Hosts

A warm welcome awaits you at Creech Mill by us, the resident hosts, Barbara and Lloyd Siddle. Our house forms part of the courtyard, therefore, we are on hand to offer help and advice throughout your stay.

Our first home when we came to Scotland in 1985, was Corn Mill House at nearby Garlieston. This was a former grain merchants office in need of restoration.

We later restored and moved in to the adjoining mill. The electricity was generated by a water wheel. Lloyd who is an engineer, had taken the wheel piece by piece from an old farm building at South Balfern, and re-built it incorporating a sophisticated system of micro chip controls to regulate the electricity supply.

Our current house and the cottages which are formed around the courtyard were part of the original Sorbie creamery.  Most of it was derelict when we came here in 1999.
